About Us

Karla Marshall, Director of Learning and Development

Hello there!  I am Karla.  I am co-founder and Director of Learning and Development here at OnPath Training.  I am passionate about supporting individuals, families, caregivers, and clinicians as we work together to care for one of the most vulnerable healthcare populations.  I have over 14 years of experience in the healthcare field, including more than 10 years providing direct care for seniors and individuals who are living with Dementia.  I am excited to partner with Lisa as we bring education to support our community by providing opportunities to learn essential skills to help those we serve to maintain independence and meaningful connections.

To support individuals with Dementia and those who care for them, I became certified through the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners (NCCDP), as both a Certified Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care Trainer (CADDCT) and a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP).  Through the International Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners (ICCDP), I am certified as both a Certified Montessori Dementia Care Professional Trainer (CMDCPT) and a Certified Montessori Dementia Care Professional (CMDCP).  I teach seminars that are the first step for clinicians to complete certification to become CMDCP and CDP.  These seminars also provide great information for those who have a family member or are caring for a loved one with Dementia.  I graduated from Lincoln Christian University with a Master of Arts in Counseling and am licensed in the state of Illinois as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor.

I was born, raised, and raised my own family in the small towns of Central Illinois.  I have six adult children, five grand pups, and my first grandchild on the way.  My fiancé Lonnie and I have been together for over four years and plan to get married this year.  We all love sports, nature and spending time together.  Our family is a close-knit family, for which I am very grateful.

Being a caregiver and support for individuals with Dementia has become a deep connection of mine. Drawing from personal and professional experience, I am excited to bring educational resources and support to those in our community who are purposed to make a healthy difference in the lives of others.  I look forward to meeting you!

Peace,

Karla

Lisa Moran, Director of Operations

Hi! I’m Lisa. I am co-founder and Director of Operations here at OnPath Training, and I am honored to be a part of the learning journey for the individuals we serve. With over 20 years of experience in healthcare, both hospital and long-term care settings, I have had the privilege of enhancing the experiences of patients, residents and care teams by building compassionate connections and promoting respectful responsiveness. With a focus on quality outcomes, I’ve honed my skills as a facilitator, project manager, and instructional designer, which I now bring to serve the clients of OnPath Training.

I enjoy a wide variety of interests, and am a lifelong learner of all things that help us find joy and well-being in life. I suppose that is what led me to become a Certified Consulting Hypnotist, allowing me to work with clients to reconnect with that joy and well-being that is within us all. An added benefit to being a hypnotist is I always have a great answer for that icebreaker question “what’s one thing people might be surprised to know about you?”

My educational background includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Instructional Design and Technology with a focus on organizational change, and my work has provided rich and diverse experience in operations, organizational development, Lean project management, and customer service. I’d say my favorite of all is creating and facilitating interactive, engaging training that makes learning easy, especially on topics such as personal and professional well-being, customer service, communication, conflict resolution, and de-escalation, as those are all areas that greatly contribute to our ability to BE and be well.

I was born and raised in Central Illinois and live with my lovely husband, Dave, and two furry puppers, Kiera and Finnegan. We have four amazing kids and their wonderful families, and they all live nearby, thank goodness! We love Minnesota Viking football, Minnesota Wild hockey, and fun time with the family (not necessarily in that order).

It is my great pleasure to partner with Karla to provide these valuable learning opportunities for the people in our community who are called to make a positive difference in the lives of others. In case you don’t hear it enough, thank you for all you do. I can’t wait to meet you!

Much love,

Lisa
